HISTORY

The club was founded in 1993
as
'Super Strikers' Girls Football Club, playing in a local six a-side league at Under 11. The founder members were all from a local school, Chandag Primary and came to the current manager, Barrie Newton, with a request to help them start a football team, as their sports teacher uttered the now infamous and classic comment:

'I'm far too busy with the boys team on a Saturday and girls can't play football anyway...'

The rest, as they say, is history!

Keynsham Town Ladies First (2005)

We continued playing six-a-side for about three years, before attracting additional players to enable us to start playing occasional eleven-a-side friendlies. We changed our name to 'Protel Super Strikers' after sponsorship from a local Telecom company, Protel. We also adopted a 'Celtic' style Green and White playing kit, which later became more dominant Green with Black.

In the season of 1998/99, we entered the South West Women's League in Division Two and finished third place. At the same time we changed our name to 'Keynsham Town Ladies FC' and became closely affiliated to 'Keynsham Town' men's club, sharing their clubhouse and facilities.
