SOCIAL MEDIA POLICY

 
Keynsham Town Ladies Football Club is committed to providing a caring, friendly and safe environment, both on and off the pitch, for all our members so they can participate in football in a relaxed and secure atmosphere.

Purpose:

This policy outlines the appropriate use of social media by players, staff, and volunteers of Keynsham Town Ladies Football Team. It aims to protect the team’s reputation, safeguard minors, and promote a positive and inclusive environment, particularly because the team includes players under the age of 18.


1. General Conduct on Social Media:

- Respect:

All interactions on social media should be respectful, professional, and uphold the team’s values. Bullying, harassment, or offensive comments will not be tolerated.

- Representing the Team:

When engaging online, members should remember that they are representing Keynsham Town Ladies Football Club. Comments that could damage the team’s reputation, undermine team spirit, or violate any of the team's policies are strictly prohibited.

- Inclusive Language:

Use inclusive and positive language in all posts, comments, and messages. Racism, sexism, homophobia, or any form of discrimination is unacceptable.


2. Safeguarding U18 Players:

- No Personal Information:

Do not share personal details (e.g., addresses, phone numbers, birthdates) of any player, especially those under 18.

- Photos and Videos:

Obtain explicit permission from both the player and their parent/guardian before posting photos or videos of U18 players. Any shared media should reflect the positive and professional image of the team.

- Tagging U18 Players:

Avoid tagging U18 players in posts without permission from them and their parent/guardian.

- Direct Messaging:

No adult staff or players should engage in private, direct messaging with U18 players unless absolutely necessary and always with a parent/guardian’s awareness.


3. Privacy Settings:

- Profiles:

Players, especially those under 18, are encouraged to use privacy settings to limit who can view their profiles and content. Team management may offer guidance on how to secure social media accounts.


- Official Accounts:

Only designated staff or volunteers may manage the team’s official social media accounts. These accounts must be used solely for promoting the team, sharing positive content, and engaging with the community.


4. Posting Guidelines for Team Members:

- Positive Representation:


Posts should highlight the achievements, sportsmanship, and community spirit of Keynsham Town Ladies. Negative comments about teammates, coaches, or opponents are strictly prohibited.

- Confidentiality:

Do not post or discuss sensitive team matters, including tactics, injuries, or disciplinary actions, on social media platforms.

- Sponsorship and Partnerships:

Players and staff should support the team’s official sponsors or partners by engaging with relevant content and ensuring all mentions are positive and professional.


5. Monitoring and Enforcement:

- Monitoring:


Keynsham Town Ladies reserves the right to monitor social media activity related to the team to ensure compliance with this policy.

- Breaches:

Any breach of this policy will be addressed by the team’s management. Depending on the severity of the violation, consequences may range from a warning to suspension or dismissal from the team.


6. Reporting Inappropriate Content:

- Reporting:

Any player, staff member, or volunteer who encounters inappropriate content related to the team or its members, especially U18 players, should report it to the team’s management immediately.



7. Policy Updates:

This policy will be reviewed annually or as needed to ensure it remains relevant and effective. All members of Keynsham Town Ladies will be notified of any changes.


By following this policy, we can ensure that Keynsham Town Ladies maintains a positive, safe, and respectful online presence for all members and supporters.
