	SOFT PENALTY, STRONG WIND AND LUCK PUT PAY TO DEVS CUP RUN. Keynsham travelled to nearby Swindon for the next round of the FA WNL Reserve Cup. Swindon started on the front foot and Keynsham had to show some resolute defending, which they did very well. Meg led a couple of good charges forward. Jenna almost wriggled free before checking back and feeding Meg - who was just lining up a shot, but had her pocket picked by a Swindon player and gave away a foul. Swindon were looking dangerous on the flanks, but a brilliant interception by Zoe saw her feed Jess B and her pass saw Jenna race clear and calmly fire in! (0-1). A Swindon winger managed to break free in the box, but her low cross was well cleared by Lily T in the middle of the goal. Good team football by Keynsham involving several players (Jessie, Angel, Jess & Ella) saw Jenna force a corner. Ella’s low corner finds its way thru to Angel who sees her effort spilled then recovered by the Swindon keeper - a great pinch from Jenna soon follows and her driving run sees her fire off target off balance There is a short delay as a Swindon Player receives treatment for an awkward twist. Delay over. Immediately after, there is a let off for Keynsham as a player is just offside before slotting past Chloe. Lily T fires in a great strike from distance. Keynsham are warming to their task. Jessie and Angel work well to pinch the ball high - before Jenna feeds Angel but under pressure she can’t quite steer the ball past the keeper. A great interchange between Lily and Meg sees the latter send a peach of a pass to the former, but Swindon rally and win it back. Mandy H produces a superb challenge - as Swindon briefly threatened. 35 - Jess B for Maddie I. Jessie fires narrowly off target. Ella cross sees Swindon clear. Maddie doubles our lead with a 35 yarder that the keeper won’t want to see back! (0-2) 38 - Loz W for Ruby D. Almost 3. As Loz wins the ball, plays it to Angel who slips in Jenna - under pressure she tries to go around the keeper but is forced wide and Swindon get numbers back. Megs superb driving run - beating 3 or 4 players - before drawing a foul. Megan’s Freekick is weirdly given as a corner, which Swindon clear. HT: KEYNSHAM TOWN LADIES 2 vs SWINDON DEVS 0 Nicky H, Tilly K & Erin H for Jenna B, Zoe HG & Angel W the half time changes. Second half starts… a strong wind has picked up benefitting the home side. Early chance as Maddie and Nicky combine to charge down a clearance and Maddie’s pass sees Erin a little unfortunate with her touch and the keeper claims. Chloe superb punch to clear a Swindon corner. Swindon Penalty - not sure what for tbh. It’s converted (1-2) (apparently Jessie was adjudged to have fouled, but nobody thinks it was a penalty!) Swindon score again when a hopeful ball forward evades the Keynsham defence and a player races thru to slot past Chloe (2-2) Erin great run - sees the keeper spill her cross - it falls to Jessie but she puts it over with bodies in the way on the line.  Swindon score again - they are making the most of the winds help - a rapid winger breaks down the left and shoots - Chloe saves, but a Swindon player is there to score. (3-2) Keynsham almost equalise. Loz brilliant pinch - Maddie, Erin and Jessie work the ball out to Megan, who gets clipped but stays on her feet and is chased by the keeper - out wide - Megan cross finds a Swindon player who clears. Great defending by Keynsham - Mandy then Tilly mop up. 70 - Zoe and Jenna for Ella and Megan Keynsham are battling hard - can’t fault the effort - but quality is just lacking in the second half. Glorious chance to equalise - Jenna great run causes problems and her brilliant ball sees Erin and Jessie race clear, unfortunately Erin’s square pass is just stolen by the Swindon keeper - with Jessie otherwise having a simple open goal to score. 82 - Jessie A for Angel W Tilly superb pass sees Jenna break the offside trap - the keeper sends her wide again - but she finds Angel - whose shot is blocked on the line. Keynsham are giving this everything, but despite almost getting through a few times, just can’t find that killer moment. Maddie sends in a beaut of a corner which just eludes Zoe on the far post - Swindon hack it clear - Tilly is then ruthlessly upended - Loz free-kick is well saved under the crossbar. Swindon then get a soft free-kick to relieve the pressure. 85 - Ruby for Mandy H, Keynsham are still searching for an equaliser to force extra time. Deep into injury time. Ruby and Chloe combine to stop a Swindon counter - Ruby is kicked in the head for her troubles. 	KEYNSHAM SHOW FIGHT AGAINST BOURNEMOUTH! Keynsham entertained last seasons Reserve League Champions, AFC Bournemouth Devs, for their first home fixture of the season. Keynsham started Chloe in goal. Liv, Mandy, Tilly & Martha - with Ruby Jessie & Nicky in midfield - Jenna was flanked by Jess and Maddie on the wings. Impact players this week were Meg, Alice, Loz, Zoe & Erin. Keynsham made a bright start with some nice passing and looked to get on the front foot.  Maddie made a great pinch - just as the bench were thinking she could shoot - slips it inside to Jess A who fires in a 35 yard thunderbolt!! (1-0) Bournemouth are rattled - Keynsham are standing firm - Good defending by Tilly then Mandy H. Liv gave away an indirect free kick after she was adjudged to have touched the ball before Chloe collected - Keynsham clear. Chloe a great punch from a dangerous cross, before Mandy with two crunching tackles left players flat on the floor! Jenna and Maddie combine well, which almost released the latter. The game was fast and furious - Bournemouth were seeing a lot of the ball - but Keynsham were in this and causing problems for their visitors. Chloe produced two fantastic saves to keep the hosts in the lead. (1-1) Bournemouth equalise after Keynsham over commit, and quickly take the lead moments later - when a good cross is well steered into the bottom corner (1-2) - BUT... Keynsham don’t panic - Maddie feeds Jenna who calmly slots into the bottom corner to level the game once more (2-2). Bournemouth are bossing possession - but Keynsham are battling superbly and are still a threat on the counter. A Bournemouth player benefits from a lucky ricochet but steers wide under pressure from Chloe and Tilly. Nicky and Jessie show some really neat touches and passes forward - Ruby is working tirelessly in the CDM position. Chloe superb save after a Bournemouth player wriggled free on the edge! Keynsham force Bournemouth back - the ball breaks and Nicky fires in a superb left foot volley narrowly over! 35 - Keynsham are working so hard - fresh cavalry is needed. Meg, Alice & Erin give Jenna Maddie & Jess a well earnt rest. Keynsham fantastic play out from the back - Tilly to Martha - Martha releases Alice - Bournemouth superb last ditch tackle before Erin forces a corner. But, sadly, nothing came of it. Meg forces another corner - Nicky tries her luck from distance - before Erin almost charges down a goalkeeper clearance.  HT: KEYNSHAM DEVS 2 vs BOURNEMOUTH DEVS 2 Keynsham had been absolutely superb - going toe to toe with a good Bournemouth Devs side. Loz for Jessie A the only half time change. A frantic start to the second half - Loz Nicky and Erin lead a Keynsham charge - Liv and Mandy with some great defending, before Bournemouth take a fortuitous lead when a shot deflected and span over the top of the stranded Chloe (2-3) Keynsham almost equalise again - Loz free kick causes panic and Nicky’s lobbed cross is steered over by Alice (slightly stretching)! At the other end, Bournemouth fire twice narrowly over. (4-2) a killer blow is landed by Bournemouth after Keynsham miss a couple of tackles and a Bournemouth player races thru and dinks over Chloe. Meg leads a charge - blocks a clearance and then fires narrowly off target, Keynsham are still giving this a go. Bournemouth get their fifth, which is followed up soon after by their sixth, when an attempt block of a cross hits the Keynsham crossbar and Bournemouth head the rebound in. (2-6) Keynsham have given this their all - and despite refreshing their team with regular subs, a lot of players are out on their feet. A seventh goal arrives. After some great football to be fair and a composed finish on the angle. (2-7) Maddie superb thru ball - Jenna excellent pace and draws a good save from the Bournemouth keeper, the defence clears, before any Keynsham player can react. Keynsham have got a bit of a second wind and are pinning Bournemouth back. Jessie pulls another goal back with a great turn and left footed finish! (3-7) Chloe fantastic save - after a Bournemouth free kick had been blocked by the wall and the player sent in a fierce strike from the rebound! Bournemouth add an 8th - after what looked a possible foul on Mandy challenging for a header. (3-8) Keynsham to their absolute credit never give up and the game finishes with defeat, but a super proud performance. FT: KEYNSHAM DEVS 3 vs BOURNEMOUTH DEVS 8

	BRAVE KEYNSHAM RUE MISSED CHANCES Keynsham travelled south to visit Moneyfields for their first League fixture of the season. Moneyfields had had a busy summer, having recruited lots of new players from nearby Portsmouth. It was dry & muggy conditions - played at the brand new 3.5 million facilities at the John Jenkins stadium. Moneyfield showed some good passing and movement in the opening exchanges, a dangerous cross flashed across the Keynsham goal. But Keynsham didn’t take long to get into their stride. Alice & Ella combined neatly - Ella’s great thru ball saw Jenna narrowly offside. Before Megan almost released Jenna again, but the keeper just won the race to the ball. Loz superb challenge on the edge of the Keynsham area - before great playing out from the back by Keynsham saw Alice almost fashion an opening for Jenna. Meg fired an effort narrowly over - but was adjudged offside. Before Jenna managed to pinch the ball, race clear, but fired narrowly wide. The game was competitive and end to end. Meg great ball saw Jenna again race clear - but just shoot wide again. Both teams were looking dangerous on the break. Keynsham were having the clearer chances by far! - whilst Keynsham’s defence were standing firm restricting their opponents to speculative long range efforts! Zoe great defending to intercept a Moneyfield break. Angel W great switch - saw Alice T race thru - but also just fire wide. Keynsham were getting closer!! Jenna superb pinch saw her cross to Alice - who was adjudged offside. Superb Keynsham break saw Megs cross find Alice - great control on the cross - but her shot just lacked the power. 18 mins - Moneyfields took their first real chance when a player broke thru the back line and calmly slotted thru Chloe’s legs. (0-1) Keynsham didn’t panic - Alice was tormenting their defence down the right and another driving run almost got in. The game was going from end to end. Moneyfields almost added a second when a corner wasn’t cleared and a player was allowed to turn and shoot, but Chloe showed great hands. Another super crossfield pass saw Alice with another chance but the keeper made a great save! Alice, Jenna & Loz great press won the ball high which didn’t quite lead to anything. 30 Loz & Ella had a breather - for Martha & Ruby. Lily T great pass saw Jessie A feed Alice but again she was adjudged offside by a very keen linesman. Meg cross saw Angel fire another chance on target. 33 - Maddie I, Jess B, Nicky H for Angel W, Meg B & Alice T Small delay after Ruby left her mark on her midfield counterpart. Nicky H led a superb counter feeding Ruby D who released Jenna who fired another chance just wide. HT: MONEYFIELDS RES 1 vs KEYNSHAM DEVS 0 On another day Keynsham could’ve scored 6 in the first half - but Moneyfields were dangerous and we needed to stay focused and be more clinical. Keynsham started the second half on the front foot. Nicky H, Jessie A, Ruby D were working hard in midfield and a great pass out to Jess B saw her cross well defended in front of Jenna and Maddie in the middle. Moneyfields started to boss possession and Keynsham’s defence of Lily, Martha, Zoe & Tilly were superb in protecting their keeper, Chloe! Ruby superb blocked challenge thwarted a dangerous attack. Moneyfields hit the post (think Chloe may have got a touch on it) At the other end a Keynsham Corner saw Jess and Ruby cause panic and the ball went out for another corner! Jenna made a great break & almost found Jess in the middle. Moneyfields were seeing more of the ball, but Keynsham continued to pose problems on the counter. Good play from Keynsham - Maddie great switch found Jess - her pass was just behind Jenna and was cleared. It was fast becoming a nearly game for Keynsham with the final pass or shot just missing. Moneyfields scored on the break when a cross was bundled home (0-2) giving Chloe no chance! Keynsham continued to battle bravely - a great interchange between Nicky H and Jessie A saw Jenna release Jess B but her cross just sailed out - off balance. Great feet from Nicky saw her find a half opening and volley an effort on target. 65 - Ella G & Meg B - Tilly K & Lily T Jenna quick fire shot saw the keeper scramble the ball wide. 70 - Jenna B & Jessie A for Alice T & Angel W 78 - Zoe HG for Tilly K Maddie and Meg tried their luck from distance. Angel W bravely took the ball to the face trying to charge down their defender. 81 - Loz W & Jenna B for Nicky H & Jess B, as Keynsham tried to find a way back. Loz great pass to Maddie - Maddie almost fed Jenna - before Maddie, Martha and Angel almost released Jenna again. Meg cross almost had the keeper worried. Keynsham were still fighting hard, but Moneyfields almost extended their lead - when Keynsham were caught forward - but the striker put wide under pressure from Ruby and Chloe. After a few mins of injury time the referee halted proceedings and Keynsham were left to reflect on a very positive performance, but a reminder that if you don’t take your chances you will get punished. 	DETERMINED DEVS PROGRESS. Keynsham Devs travelled to Maidenhead for their determining FA Women’s National League Cup game. The winners progressing to the main draw, whilst the losers having the added bonus of continuing in the cup, but dropping into the Plate. The pitch had been showcased as 3G - but was instead an astroturf hockey pitch. Not ideal with the hot weather. Keynsham started - 433 - Chloe in goal, Ella G, Mandy H, Zoe HG & Martha H in defence. Ruby CDM with Jessie A and Megan in the CAM roles. Alice T and Maddie I providing the width with Erin H spearheading the attack. Lily T, Tilly K, Angel, Nicky H & Jenna B were this week’s game changers. From the off - Keynsham tried to play nice football - one superb passage of play saw Alice T find Jessie whose shot deflected and hit the bar, Mandy fired wide from the corner. Martha’s pass saw Erin race thru - flick around the keeper, but a defender managed to recover and clear. A (nut)meg from Meg had the benched chuckling. Maddie superb touch and pass released Erin and she seemingly squared for the on rushing Alice to score, but somehow side footed wide from close in. (It happens mate!) Drinks break Keynsham were bossing this and another chance soon followed, when Chloe J long clearance saw Alice T race clear - composed herself well - but the keeper stood up and saved her effort. Subs 30 mins Angel W, Jenna B, Lily T, Nicky H & Tilly K gave Zoe HG, Erin H, Meg B, Martha H & Jessie A - a much needed breather as the pitch-side temperature hit almost 30 degrees! Angel W superb feet almost broke thru - but the keeper did well again. Jenna B fired narrowly wide after a corner had only been partially cleared. Mandy H and Chloe J had a bad collision which saw a break in play. Lily T and Maddie superbly won the ball - Nicky released Jenna with a fantastic outside of the foot pass - sadly Jenna was narrowly offside - as she rounded the keeper to score. Keynsham were getting closer! Jenna, Angel and Alice led another superb charge - which saw Jenna fire narrowly off target. Lily T fantastic switch saw Alice T and Jenna B just beaten to the ball by the keeper. It was all Keynsham in terms of clear chances, but… Chloe was forced into a great save right on HT as Maidenhead made a rare break. HT: Maidenhead Devs 0-0 Keynsham Devs In truth - Keynsham started the second half a bit flat and lacklustre - Maidenhead were having a bit more possession and taking the game to Keynsham - Mandy was called into a fantastic challenge. Keynsham were digging deep - but the game was now very much 50:50. 60 mins subs. Zoe HG, Meg B, Erin H, Jessie A & Martha H - returned for Alice T, Maddie I, Ella G, Mandy H & Ruby D. Angel W great feet again and pass saw Meg race thru and fire in a brilliant strike that the keeper palmed onto the post. The corner was cleared. 65 mins - With the game seemingly evenly poised - Keynsham made the break through when Jenna B latched onto a back pass - left the defenders running in treacle and fired past the keeper to score!! (0-1) Water break Meg B was causing Maidenhead problems - her great cross just alluded Jenna - before Angel and a couple of their players wrestled for the rebound, WWE style. Keynsham were more dominate again - Nicky, Jessie and Angel were winning the midfield battle, but Chloe had to be alert a few times to the quick Maidenhead counter. Jenna and Meg fashioned another break away - which the keeper handled well. Meg B was causing problems again and her driving run and cross - saw a Maidenhead player smash her clearance straight at Jenna, but it had enough power to make it impossible to control and Maidenhead cleared and just fell out of reach of Erin on the back post. As the game entered the final moments - Zoe HG made a superb challenge as Maidenhead threatened to force penalties, but Keynsham held firm for a deserved win! FT: Maidenhead Devs 0-1 Keynsham Devs
